UW:
Prophylaxis when CD count < 50 is Azithromycin or Clarithromycin.

later it says:

Inhaled Pentamidine for prophylaxis.

Kap: TMP-SMZ, and then Dapsone, Atovaquone, and Pentamidine (last resort)

So which is first line for Prophylaxis of PCP in HIV?

Azithromycin, clarithromycin r prophylaxis for mycobacterium avium, not for PCP, typically at a CD4<50.

for PCP, the prophylaxis, its starts in 2 situations:

1. CD4 <200

2. PCP infection, untill the level is above 200

Prophylaxis is with TMP/SMZ(1st), or dapsone if allergic..

Pentamidine(Pancreatitis) & atovaqoune(Safer) r used in treatment in allergy to TMP/SMZ
