I know you might have heard this question thousand and thousand of times ... but actually no1 has ever answered it directly : If we read all cases in FA and UW ( alone ) , would we go to the exam to see ALL ( or at least 10 out of 12 ) of the Chief complaints (front door info) from FA and UW ? I have mentioned many times ,that no way could i improvise in this test , so at least i need to read something familiar on the doorway information ,,, otherwise , i know , i WILL panic ... So veterans ... what do you think ?

hi icarus i am not a veteran but in my exam,i did not see a case for which i could not come up with a decent list of DD or questions. As long as u are a doctor or have been in the wards (if u are a student)i don't think it's an issue. the cases i saw were simple complaints.i hear some ppl get some funny cases like someone having a seizure or sth.and u are tempted to laugh. in my humble opinion, the main challenge in this exam begins when u enter that room.coz if u haven't prepared well or are not confident, all your knowledge flies out thru the window instantly and comes back as soon as u walk out the door. i did many stupid things in my exam that i know i would never do under normal circumstances simply bc i didn't practise enough. jusst practise practise and practise everything.from the doorway to the PN writing.u need to be almost robotic in this exam bc therez no time to think. i hope i pass.good luck

It's more then enough. Those 2 things and practice will give you success. GL and don't worry as eida said they are just regular simple complains and FA and UW covers almost every possible case.

cases in actual exam are not typical cases. they are vague with few positive symptoms. FA is excellent for patient note. no other book is that good.
