Hi. It depends on the officer who interviews you. In my case (I'm from the Philippines), only the Step 1 score was asked for. Not step 2 ck nor financial documents. I've heard of people here who were asked to return with Step 2 scores. Pray you get a nice officer.

I reapplied for the visa in Cairo, Egypt . I gave the officer a strong financial file and academic file containing the following : 1.Letter from the dean to the consul general indicating that : I am a resident University hospitals , passed the first part of master degree in hepatology and expected to have the second part within one year , doing research work " Effects of Aging on GIT ", 2.Acceptance letter for observership for 3 months . 3.Scheduling permit , confirmation and visa letter sent by ECFMG for USMLE Step 2 CS . 4.Proof of passing USMLE Step 1 & 2 CK (82 & 77) ( low scores ) 5. A copy of my medical diploma . 6.CV. 7.Testimonial from my supervisor professor ( member of the American Association of Gastroenterology). 8. Testimonial from the Dean of my institution . 9.Itinerary of the booked flight . I am refused again without any apparent reason . I was clear in my suituation and honest . But I do not know how to convince them . What to do now ? Is it over ? Is it impossible for a scientific man to enter USA ? Please help me . I am very disappointed . Is it better to reapply (third time ) for the visa next Nov ( to avoid overcrowded summer months ) (first one was on June 2007, second on July 2007)?<?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> I am single . Do you think being married would facilitate getting the visa ? If I apply for DV immigration now , would that be recorded at the consulate authorities ( and considered to be against me ) when I apply for NIV ? I think that once being rejected , the chances of rejection increase . Is it true ? Do you know people in the same suituation like mine and issued a visa on further applications ?

To usmletopper1, I would strongly recommend that you go for the visa interview with both step 1 and 2 scores. Many people with just one score have been returned by the embassy and have been asked to come with complete scores. I don't know about other countries.

It won't be a rejection but they might give you the yellow paper or 221 G. Read the other thread going on in the forum.
