what exactly is an advanced program ? it begins in PGY 2
are those who have done residencies outside the US eligible for this program ?

Advance match means securing a job a year ahead. If you get matched into neurology advanced program then you will start that job after one year BUT
all the advance matches have a requirement that you spend that empty one year in preliminary or transitional internal medicine or surgery.
That is to say if i want to do neurology i will apply into a preliminary internal medicine for this year and neurology from the next year onwards together now.
