Which of the following binds to cytoplasmic receptors?
a) epinephrine
b) glucagon
c) thyroxine
d) insulin

its thyroxine ,as insulin ,epinephrine and glucagon are all water soluble they cant cross lipid bilayer ceel membrane and have to bind to receptors ON CELL MEMBRANE and then they carry out intracellular actions by 2nd messenger like cAmp etc.

while THYROXINE being lipid soluble can esaily cross cell membrane and carries out its function by binding to cytoplasmic receptors or nucler receptors within cell and directly increasing expression of mRna

Insulin acts on Its RECEPTORS ON THE CELL MEMBRANE which has Tyrosine Kinase as Second Messenger Effectors.

Glucagon Acts on ITS OWN RECEPTORS on the CELL MEMBRANE to Exert the Effects VIA Gs Protein Inc cAMP via PRotein Kinase A

Epinephrine has its own Alpha and Beta Receptors to work upon.

Thyroxine Enters the Cell and T3 binds to the Thyroid receptors on the Nucleus which r a Superfamily of HORMONE SENSITIVE NUCLEAR TRANSCRIPTION FACTORS.
