Hi can any one answer following nbme qs for me-
1. whats antithyroid for hyperthyroidism in pregnancy?
-Propylthiouracil- but hyperthyroidism @ fetus/ methimazole- teratogenic/ iodine - effective for 10-15 days only or any else?
2. 17 yr old boy as shown in picture (showing skin colored papule around nose) brought after tonic-clonic seizure. what additnl finding will be disclosed on history taking?
A-episode of hypomania, B-severe depression, C-family h/o alcoholism, C-special education beginning @ 1st grade, D-special education beginning @ 10th grade

1) PTU is highly protein bound so less free drug in circulation so wont cross placental barrier and is also protein bound and large size molecule.....

for Q. 2does NF mean neurofibromatosis? if so how does it corelate w/special educatiopn in 1st grade - kid is mentally retarded or so?
