My prep was as follows.
Physiol. 1xkaplan, 3xFA
Pathol. 1xKaplan, 3x FA, Goljans pathol. rapid review
Behavioral half kaplan and 1x FA
Microbiol. immun 3xkaplan notes, 3xFA(weak in this subject)
Biochem 3xFA, 2x Kaplan notes
Pharmacology 1xkaplan notes, 3xFA, Lippincott(only some topics)
Kaplan Qbank 68%
UW 65%( did only half of it)wish I had started earlier
My behavioral science was good cos I had done step 2 and it was very similar to psychiatry.My final advice, use FA and learn every single word.

Wow! congrats!!! All the effort was worth it!
I have a question. Why did you use Lippincott on Pharma? how did you find out you need it? by your results on NMBE, Kaplan, QBank or UW?

I would say the exam is slightly more difficult than NBME but easier than UW.

torotonian, I used Lippincott in some topics like Chemotx drugs because I realised I was scoring low in them.

how long did u study and how many hours aday?
i realized u did only one kaplan read and more reviews from kaplan .. after doing exam ..do u advice ppl to do same or do more reviews from kaplan ..?

Thx Angel Doc. I will advise you to revise kaplan many more times to get even better scores. I studied for 5 months on and of. The last 2 months were very intensive and I tried to do the FA over and over again. I started memorising stuff 2months before becos that is my weak point. I answered the qbanks and made notes which I revised 2 weeks before the exam after I had taken my NBME 1. Dont use too many books, use few books but revise a lot so that you are familiar with the basics. Revise, revise, revise, I think thats the key. I did less revision in step2 and more variety of books and got 85/210. Thats my own experience. I hate revision so I had to force myself to do it. And I think it was worth the effort.

I got lots of MRIsand cts. the topic which was asked that I found strange was disinfection. Funny enough I had at least 5 questions from this topic. I will also advice you to do the usmle cd cos I got 3 questions that were like almost identical to Qs on the CD, this I also found strange. I got other questions similar to UW Qs. I hope this helps
