Does anyone know how Anticoagulants (i.e. warfarin) work in blocking Vitamin K synthesis? From what I know, it doesn't block the carboxylation reaction directly; rather they block reductases that use Vitamin K epoxide to make Vitamin K hydroquinone. And because Vitamin K hydrquinone (the substrate of gamma-glutamyl carboxylase) is not formed, carboxylation cannot occur. Do you guys agree?
