listen...the ONLY person that have the answer is YOU only you know the LOR best, and no one else.

Good things are if the letter is long, has specific examples of things you did and are from the USA. From this try to choose the best.

hey guys, i am so worried now. 5 of my lor's were posted from my place on the same day. oASIS shows that 3 of them have reached 2 days back.I am so worried abt the rest of the 2. I had sent them via speed post. They were sent separately, by all 5 letter writers but on the same day.

If I were u I would use the 2 from the US and pick the best 2 from my home country....2 letters from US doctors are going to be much much worthed then 4 from your home country. I know its sad but that is just the way it is, a lot of people would wish they had US MD's LOR's so if you have them use them!!! PD's will not trust your home doctors LOR's as much as a US doctor unless your home doctor is a very trusted famous physician. For instance I only used US doctors LOR's I didn't even bother asking no one at home even if I could have gotten really nice letters... if you have those use them!!!

Sorry if I sound not so nice but the four letters from your country are probably worth nothing since these letters are not trusted from program directors and the two from the united states are also worth nothing because you did not even work with the person who wrote them and you waived your right to actually read the letter so in reality instead of six letters your really have none

i am pretty much in the same boat.. I had not waived my right any of these letter my scene: 3 US lors...talk in general about me...mention nothing abt my clincal knwolege.. 2 from home country which talk in depth about my clincal work.. so i m going with 2 from home and 1 from US

hey, how important are these LORs anyway...? i mean where in the hierarchy of credentials would you put them...? USMLE scores, USCE with externships>> observerships, LORs, a good personal statement, Residency Experience in Home country in the same specialty one is applying for, fresh graduates vs ripe fruits....!!! , publications with peer reviewed>> non-peer reviewed,.....etc, etc.... can anyone put them in perspective for me...? and order the things in descending...? sorry for hijacking your thread motorola, but i think this is a pertinent question here...!

One point. If you have not waived your right to see the LORs from your home country, they carry less weight than an unseen but probably not so glorifying US LoR.

i would anytime not waive right to see rather than have a medicore reco-letter with mistakes..thats a very bad impression.. my scores are above avg and have USCE+ pulications..so i deicded not to waive
