NO! i think they r different. I CELLS as u have mentioned is a part of the enteric endocrine system, :arrow: present in the upper intestine/duodenum, and is responsible for secretion of CCK.just like S CELLS secrete SECRETIN and G CELLS secrete GASTRIN. I CELL DISEASE is an inherited lysosomal storage disorder . One unique feature of this disease when first described was the presence of phase-dense intracytoplasmic inclusions in the fibroblasts of patients. These cells were termed inclusion cells, or I-cells; thus, the disease was designated I-cell disease :arrow: These are observed in cells of mesenchymal origin, especially fibroblasts. i hope its a convincing explanation :roll:

An extra addition to I cell disease is also that its due to failure of addition of mannose 6 phospate to lysosome proteins, causing these enzymes to be secreted out the cell instaed of being targeted to lysosome.
