Hi All,
Please let me know the process to be followed to send the application documents to ECFMG.
I had already got the ID and password from ECFMG and had filled all the details for step one.
I saw that 31st Augest is the last date for sending the application to ECFMG for Step one exam, for the exam period October - December 2007.
My question is -
1. Do I need to send the documents before 31st of August (or reach ECFMG) or if I make the payment (pay exam fee) will do befor this date.
2. when should I sumit forms 344 and 354 , where do I get them, (do I get them from ECFMG after paying the fee).
3. What are all the documents that I should attach with Form-186, id it mandatery that Form - 186 is to be signed with the Deen of the collage or it can be attester by any notary.
please answere my questions, I am really confused with all these questions.

You will get all the forms to be submitted, from the ECFMG website, before paying the fee. Form 186 will appear at the end of the online application process because it automatically contains your information, you don't have to fill it. Form 186 can be signed by a notary, but remember to not sign it ahead of time, but sign it in front of the notary. Form 186 has to be sent by mail to ECFMG from the notary office, so provide a stamped and addressed envelope to the notary.

I had seen the forms 344 and 354 in ECFMG sight, but these forms are in PDF format and they are describing the process.
Is there any thing to be filled in these forms, if so where can I get the format of these two forms.
going back to my old question- for this Oct - Dec exam period, it is enough if I pay the fee befor 31st Aug or do i need to send the application form also to ECFM before this date(31st Aug).
please let me know.
Your help will be highly appreaciable in this regard

i guess i am confused with what you are doing... if you want to have the exam test period for oct-dec, then you have to all the papers processed before the deadline. you can type in all the information online. and then if you need to be verified, then you will have to send in the forms that needs to be signed by your dean or a notary.
if the process takes too long, they should credit your account and you will have to resubmit the new 2008 applicationand do it all again.. the new ECFMG application comes out in Sept.
that is what happened to me a few years ago. i wished i just waited until the new application was ready. i was so stressed out and panicked since i didn't know what was happening.
my advice, if you can wait until the 2006 application is open, then wait. otherwise, rush everything now and hope it gets done.

and i still don't know what you mean if you should pay the fees.
my understanding of the application process is to do it all online. and this is the way i do it.
you need to submit your application online. and then pay the fee via credit card. and then print form that is pertinent to your situation (the dean's signature or the notary signature) and then mail that to ECFMG. but until they get that verification letter your application is not complete.

did you read the instructions in the forms 344 and 345? those are the first 1 or 2 pages and the later pages are the forms to be filled out.

lady/dude! relax. it won't take more than 1 hour to sit down and read the booklet of information from ECFMG and USMLE about the application process. if you do that you will save all the time wasted in anxiety and misinformation and you can AVOID DELAY DUE TO MISTAKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
