First of all, before we think about what drug to give, whats the diagnosis here??? A. Antitoxin…Botulism infection by clostridium botulinum: diplopia, paralysis, respiratory muscle weakness s/p GI infection from picnic C. IFN. Guillian barre sec to to cammylobacter diarrhea, isn’t the t/t IVIg and plasmapheresis? D Pyridostigmine is for Myasthenia Gravis.

Answer is Antitoxin fr. C. botulism. dx is not GBS b/c eyes are involved, and vignette does not suggest ascending paralysis, plus tx for GBS is IVIG, not IFN!

Yeah. Treatment of GBS is IVIG and/or plasmapharesis. It's differentiated from CIDP by it's lack of response or exacerbation with the use of corticosteroids. Well that and the fact that it is more acute (AIDP) vs chronic (CIDP).
