Most Common cause of lung cancer - Smoking

Most common lung cancer - adenocarcinoma

But Adenocarcinoma has the weakest association with smoking.... isn't this a paradox?

its primary lung cancer - to avoid mixup with metastasis

it IS interesting! I did a little revision of big robbins and this is what I found

The incidence of adenocarcinoma has increased significantly in the last two decades; it is now the most common form of lung cancer in women and, in many studies, men as well. Adenocarcinomas, including bronchioloalveolar carcinomas, are less frequently associated with a history of smoking (still, greater than 75% are found in smokers) than are squamous or small cell carcinomas (>98%)

Its not THAT weak an association! Still agreeing w/ ur notion thouh smiling face

Most cases of adenocarcinoma are associated with smoking. However, among people who have never smoked ("never-smokers"), adenocarcinoma is the most common form of lung cancernod

i think its just a game of numbers

hypothetically from 100 cases of primary lung cancer, 60 cases are associated with smoking, of those 60 cases say 20 cases are adenocarcinoma, but the remaining 40 cases not associated with smoking, of those 40 cases say 30 cases are adenocarcinoma - that makes a total of 50 cases of adenocarcinoma. in that case this isn't a paradox!!!!

stupid 'MOST COMMONS' !!!!!!!!mad
