the pedigree here is suggestive of li fraumeni syndrome which is an example of multifactorial inheritance

Variable expression: Variation in clinical features (type and severity) of a genetic disorder between individuals with the same gene alteration, even within the same family. I prefer variable expression. But the key that someone posted is genetic heterogenity, which means "The production of identical or similar phenotypes by different genetic mechanisms". How do you guys think?

Look They Havent Worked Out the Possible Connections on Li Fraumeni Syndrome if u search on articles pertaining to Li Fraumeni Syndrome then u will find that the Presentation of the disease has to do with a Multiple of carcinomas all but related to p53 gene. the Syndrome has the ability to express the different person with a different tumor, there is no way that Genetic Heterogenity is the answer. Yes If u want to Switch back forth with the Variable Expression u can but u will be only expressing the Mode of the Disease but not the Effect on Pedigree. the Only thing other than Variable Expression is Anticipation which is Happening in the Disease. So the logical lies in the point that wht the question asks of u the pedigree or the Disease itself ?? That Key Provided has many Different Answers Wrong i have been through it and worked over them. Found a lot of different answers and opinions. I wud suggest u always crosscheck that Key. I hope My 2 cents help u.

how can it be anticipation? I-1ca breast at the age of 28 II-1 ca breast at the age of 55 the answer must relate to the entire pedigree not just one generation from II to III in li fraumeni syndrome there is acombined effect of -tumorsupressors genes and environment-thus making it multifactorial.refer to kaplan genetics notes. hope what i understood fr the book is correct.
