guys how would you rate pathology residency as compared to IM,FP peds or others? any comments

Depends upon your interest firstly.
But pathology is easy lifestyle with good money, certainly competitive but lesser than Derma, rads, Ortho.
Programs here usually give preference to applicants who have had prior training in Pathology in their home country or have some research etc. Be sure if pathology is what you want to do.
Can you spend your rest of career life seeing specimens & peeping into microscopes. There is going to be no clinical contact tooo. Ask yourself. think about it.
Personally I think its a great field to be in, since Pathology involves understanding every disease, knowing a lil bout everything... Clinicians, oncologists depend on the pathologists decision. here its fully equipped with recent advances. And has a lots of scope for RESEARCH too.
