Zygone wrote: The application per say is throu the ERAS website which is run by aamc.org. ECFMG acts as a deans office for the FMG's. Since we are applying throu ERAS the payment has to be made to ERAS. But how does it work? You select the programs on MyEras and then when and how do we pay? Does anybody know?

Well you will have to pay after you make your selections and myeras will display a window you know one of those places where you give your credit card number..you can also pay with other ways that's why they give a 10 day window if you don't pay within that time your application to those programs will be retrived. You don't pay to programs or to ECFMG...we need to pay in myeras which is part of aamc...what you payed to ecfmg is the token which pays for all the scanning of documments. The applications process is different and the ones that win the bucks are aamc. On august 15 we just need to sign for the match and pay the fee for this I think but you will not pay for the applications because it is not necessary until beginning sept 1 when you can start making selections and sending info, it does not make sence to pay for your program applications this early because maybe you are not even sure by then where you want to apply and you may change your mind and want to apply for more or less programs so it is not the time to do so...worry about that after sept 1. GL my friends and see you around I hope I have helped.

That's right ram3...if you do not waive your right then you can send your LOR's with all other documments you might want to send together and just attach the documment submission form on the front of everything. If you want to waive your right the LOR writter itself has to send it directly to ERAS (otherwise even if its a closed envelope they might not accept it as waived) with the IMG LOR cover sheet plus the documment submission form. So go ahead and send your LOR's all together and anything else you might have with just one documment submission form on the front attached with a paperclip and you will be fine. GL Medicus: Glad I could help I always learn a lot from your postings. Good luck to you too!!!
