I am one of the new bies strugling with my life and these exams.having this forum encourages me to go ahead and study .despite of all of my time managing to prepare step2 ck , i will need more time to get a decent score on exam , currently I have my step one and my step2 cs cleared , I was planning to take step 2 ck some where in aug 30-31, but i will need more time , Can you please help me with decission making ? when is a good time to take it , I have to apply and match this year,do you suggest to take it on aug . or take it later for better score? when is a last chance date?

apply as early and complete as you can.

hi aftab,don't panic.i'll share my li'll knowledge with u.
for u to apply for match ,u need to take ERAS token first(check ECFMG website for this)
match programme starts from sep 1 st onwards.u need to apply to prog. from this time onwards ,the earlier the better.
here visa issue comes at this point.
if u r a GC holder ,u can apply to prog. even with one or two scores in hand.
if u r an img with some other visa ,requiring H1 or J1 for residency
then for J1 -u should apply with 1,ck,cs scores
-u can still apply with 1 or 2 scores,but that decreases interview chances.
for H1-u should apply with 1,CS,CK,3 scores.
so now,if u want some more time for exam,take it max. only upto sept. ending.apply for match on sept .1 st with the scores in your hand and let prog directors know about your CK progress by remainding them through mails.
by feb.2008 u should submit your ECFMG certification(which u'll get after completing 1,CS,CK)
