Whenever I see a forum newbie is posting his/her exam score of 90+ and his/her exam experience, I can hardly trust on that( many of these kind of posts are their first or second post of those peole) But when I see the post of an old or senior member, who already I have seen a lot of posts of him/her during his/her preparation, I like to read it and learn from it. Do you guys feel the same? what do you think about that?

no offense, hedieh grin but no two persons are alike. someone likes to stay active in a forum (a forum fanatic or something), someone likes to just read posts (a silent reader), someone is altruistic and shares books, someone is selfish and doesn't, some posts onliners, someone posts pages and pages.... the list goes on. lets all accept the diversity in mankind.cool

And whats this bias against newbies? Did all you guys start off with a thousand posts to ur names?

Doesnt that make sense?

Askdoc was new when he posted his articles!

In the last couple of days a member posted his score in the exam score thread. His score was 262!!! How many posts does he have? ONE ! How long has he been a member? ABOUT ONE YEAR. Does that make him "not saying" the truth? NO. In fact he is for real, i know him, he is my relative.

Conclusion, .... ( you know it grin )

There is a Difference and i think Praying Might Agree Cos he has been thru a lot old Exm experiences. During that Time there were Newbies who Posted High Scores But they said was Essential. Guys there is nothing Biased Against Newbies its the Way its being Said Wht is being that Counts to be the most Important Factor In Deciding Wht Post Shud be Counted as True or Fake. All the Exm Experiences of the last 2 yrs have been ascertaining a certain amount of realism in them. Now its become I did this I did tht. I agree there is a difference in a IMG and IMS's prep we need to consider that part also but plz dont make this ur own personal bloating Blog. Uptill Now there is Only One Person (In My Humble Opinion ) who has Actually done alot for IMGs and tht is free of cost no personal benefit but the Advices have benefited the Whole lot of ppl Digidoc Go thru that particular members post and his blog and u will understand wht i m talking abt.

Physicians should be critical thinkers, so you should have your own judgement about who is believable and who is not, if you don’t think the posts are credible, overlook it, simple as that. If you are not a critical thinker, for the sake of your patients and for science, please become one.

good thread here.

i am all for choosing what you read, what you believe, and yes, what you think. it's all about choices you make for yourself, based on your judgement. that's what i do, anyway. we're all different.

but, i also kinda see what hedieh means. it's just that it's easier to trust the post if you know something about the person, if you know what he/she is about. you don't have to base your decision on assumption when you already know something about the writer.

if you know the poster, you will perhaps ask qns about his/her prep methods, resources used. if the poster is a newbie[even silent, but authentic], you're more likely to leave a Congrats and move on.

my $0.02.

Thank you freinds for all of your comments.

I didnot mean that all newbie posts are unreliable, I mean I can better rely on the peolpe who post on the forum regularly.

Do You mean Mr. T. Mentagrophyte? He is still my freind, He sometimes tries to give me a present, which calles it "a Pearl of Tinea Capitis", but I cannot accept that, because I know that it is a pearl of baldness. grin

I guess it 's easier for a newbie to post his 99 just to satisfy his ego rather than asking for advice and participating in forum discusions
