Please help me... this is quite important to me.....
I passed my Step1 in 1997, Step 2 in 1998, CSA in 2002 and got ECFMG Permanent Certificate in 2002 and passed Step 3 in 2006. Therefore, it took more than 7 years to finish the Whole step. Because of time limit issue and my low scores in the previous exams, I would like to retake and STEP1 and STEP2CK. but I don't know how to apply to retake those exams. ECFMG just told me what's written in the bulletine "The medical licensing or other authority must provide information indicating that you are applying to retake the passed Step or Step Component in order to comply with its requirement." I don't know how to get information from the medical licensing or other authority.... Please help me......

Hey dycho98, I had the same problem. Very simple call one of the state medical board examiner

just explain your situation. They will understand coz they receive calls like you every now and then.

tell them that you need a letter stating that you all of your steps are not within 7 years period.

You want to retake your Steps. The letter should on a letter head of state medical board and it

shuold be original not a copy. that's it then you will fill out step application and send that letter

to ECFMG and you are done. they will accept it.

I hope that will help.
