i go with copd...can anyone explain why bun

  #6

a) +ve ANA at 1:512 ---- SLE causes pericarditis but 'serous' pericarditis
b) Elevated ASO titer ----- Acute Rheu. fever causes diffuse fibrinous pericarditis, but not at this age!
c) Elevated renin level ----- Don`t know why it`s up there :P
d) BUN of 98 mg/dL ------ Uremia from renal failure is the MCC of fibrinous pericarditis
e) serum CK of 500 U/L ----- AMI ud cause fibrinous pericarditis, but usually focal & over the infarction

but i disagree that SLE PRODUCES serous pericarditis.
any immunologically mediated disease will produce fibrinous inflammation.
