hi all, especially to that shepherd of errant sheep, bbb....!
I'm an IMG from India, with quite a few probs. I'm already in bad shape with this year's deadlines, but i'm just hoping against hope...! well, i won't rant and rave abt all my problems here. i only will stick to the res.... so please answer....! someone, bbb, someone please...!
1. WHO SENDS the LORs...? if i waive my right to see them, and the writer sends them, what all docs should be attached to those LORs...? PLEASE HELP. i can't find clear instructions anywhere.
2 Will an MSPE without all those comparative graphs, (My school will NOT deliver such data no matter what, i know...!)
3. The ERAS says it doesn't want the original transcript., it only wants a copy. But ECFMG needs the original transcript. Now i DON"T have a signed copy of my transcript, as i got the transcript, in a sealed cover and i didn't want to break the cover. so i didn't take any signed copies. so what is my best option available now...?
please, please, answer anything you know....! even one question. i'm deperately short of people to ask..! thanks.

1. either you can mail it or the letter-writer can mail it. depends on you. if you dont waive...then submit letter with ERAS Document Submission Form. if you do waive, the document to attach with the letter is the Request for Letter of Recommendation/Cover Sheet http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/documents.html#lors and the ERAS Document Submission Form. 2. yeah most IMGs(including myself) dont have that kind of an MSPE. should be ok. 3. no one(eras or ecfmg) wants the original Medical Schol transcript. that is for our keepsake. http://www.ecfmg.org/eras/index.html#support The only original docs they need are LORs and MSPE......atleast this is true for this match. dont know what will change by the next...

wow... i love my college....! great people. they solved my problem even as i was typing. they gave me two signed copies one within the selaed cover, and one in an unsealed cover. i'm going to retain this copy and send the selaed one.
goes to show one of my oft-forgotten important theories. - the more you fret about a problem, the simpler the solution will turn out to be....!!!
thanks all...!

another problem.....
i have three letters of recommendations upon which i have waived my right to see.
all three of them have written strong LORs for me, that's what they say.but the real problem is, all LORs run into two pages and they only have the signature in the second page. is that OK...? please tell me. otherwise i have to contact them again and get new LORs.
also, what cover needs to be used to send LORs...? just the usual air,ail cover or will the ERAS provide a specific envelope as the ECFMG did for credential verification...?
HELP....

Hello,
I did not send the cover sheet to the writters when request LOR. Sorry I did not know this cover sheet. I already mailed these letter yesterday to ECFMG. Do you think I can send ECFMG the cover letter now by signing the "waiver" ? Does it work ? I did not see any of the LORs. Does anyone can tell me how to correct this error ?
Thank you very much

can someone tell me this....
having already done my residency in India, I'm very well-known to many of the physicians in my institute. and my only residency interest is pediatrics or combo genetics/pediatrics.
so when i ask for LORs, its going to be people from the same institute. can anyone tell me if its possible for me to reduce mail costs by collecting all the letters in sealed covers and sending them in one parcel..? i mean, the letters that are waived, have they got to be posted individually to the ERAS by the writers themselves, or can I collect them, and post them...? PLEASE CLEAR MY doubts. i'm already strapped for cash....!!!! ! ___________________ A conclusion is simply the place where you become tired of thinking.
