For some reason I just CAN'T get out of the 30% range in UW. Occasionally I'll get in the 40's but mostly ALL in the 30 range and I've almost completed the entire question bank. I've already been through the entire kaplan live lecture program and I'm feeling like I've not even been through medical school!  I'm starting to read Goljan high yield and listen to his audio and it seems to help and make sense so we'll see what happens. FA, to me, is like trying to memorize a phonebook and I also don't absorb much that I read so I have to resort to audio or kaplan videos. I took the NBME form 1 and made a damn 140 (converted to step score) so I'm wondering if I'm just totally screwed. Any adivce would be great...

Well, you need a lot of work but don't let your scores affect you.
The only score that counts is the exam score.
The NBME and UW score just tell you that you are not ready for the exam.
I am guessing from what I am reading that you haven't understood key points in each subject. I guess, what you should do is clarify these points even if this means reffering to text books.
Do not forget that KLN is just a review course. If you don't understand sth in there you should look it up in a text book.

Dude I will give you one advise.
You need to start from scratch again  forget that you know anything.
Take a subject or a system go over it really good, then do some UW questions, read the explanations. and then go to FA and go over that same subject or system, listen to Goljan and then only then you will see your scores improve and after 5 weeks take another NBME and I will assure you that you will have a better grade or at least get into the 330n or more.
Now I'm not a genius just your typical guy with 2 jobs trying to pass the exams

I'm doing UW right now & it's really hard. Are you reading the explanations or doing it timed? I am doing it thru tutor mode then review the explanations as well. Since you're done w/ Kaplan reading.. reinforce it w/ more readings. get a comprehensive review book too like Usmle secrets if FA is not working for you. Read on the exam exp. portion * you will get more motivated how people around here work soo hard. You will come into one conclusion... People here work crazily til wee hours in the morning. AND as everyone says & have said... If I can do it, you can do it!! So work harder & in time you will attain your goal. It's hard , it's a sacrifice but work harder & you will score better...

Thanks for all the advice guys and gals.. My UW score has actually come up some since my last post and I'm taking another NBME this weekend so I"ll let you know how it goes. I'm also doing the goljan audios and high yield notes .. seems to be a GREAT help! Wish me luck!
