I bought the melatonin supplement from CVS pharmacy, but i am not sure if it really worked. My family physician has got me on this new alternative life style regimen for this exam. Doing meditation, breathing exercises and aerobic exercise early in the morning. This has helped me quite a bit. I begged him to write me a script for this new medication Dr. Daugherty (beh sci professor) has mentioned in our Kaplan Live lecture. It's generic name is Ramelteon (sold as Rozerem). It works on the Melatonin receptors MT1 and MT2. It's supposed to be non addictive (therefore not a Schedule 2 or 4 controlled substance). Anyway, it's very expensive. I paid $100.40 for 30 tablets of 8mg. I don't have insurance and so i got 30 dollars off of the original $131.xx from Walgreens. They apparently have some discount for Uninsured people. In the end, i would try old school remedies like... warm milk with honey, and meditation to get into a normal pattern. I got the medication, just in case... but didn't realize they were going to be that expensive. Well, now i have them, if i need them. Good luck finding a good sleeping solution!!

i don't understand why you need medication - to sleep or not to sleep - during day or during night - or not to sleep at all in life

thanx for the suggestions... starbrite, actually, all this time i was studying really late night (i'm just that kinda person) & for the past couple of months I'd go back to studying in the morn so that right before the exam my cycle is adjusted (therefore i'm alert) during the timing of my exam... 8 am.... but what's been happening is i'd cycle back to studying at night & i've completely screwed up my cycle...i've already tried antihistamines & working out at night...i even suggested this to someone else who was takin the exam who needed to get their circadian rhythm fixed up....don't remember who....anywayz, anthistamines end up making me sleep too much...12 hrs instead of 8 & I recently stopped working out coz it's takin up too much of my time....

Has anyone tried Dormicum, i used to take dormicum during my medical school exams. Best thing abt this is that you can sleep within half an hour of taking the tablet, and when you get up (appx after 6-8hrs), you feel fresh. But before using read its indications/contraindications/side effects http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midazolam
