hello all. i finally completed my certification. I got the certificate yesterday. and the score today. 206/84. in step 2.. this was my second attempt... my step 1 score is 203/83. on the first attempt. i think the study time i put in for the first attempt of step 2 helped me alot during the second time.. anyway... i think kaplan books and UW.... these two are more than enough but you need to know them thoroughly... i forced myself to stay focused during the exam... trying to not spend more than the time needed on each question... if i didn't know it i clicked and pushed forward.. anyway.. i am relieved i dont have to go thro that one again. i am worried about my match still though... does anyone have any advise..... my scores are inthe 80s and with one failure... i want to match into gen surg... and i dont care where ... i do have US experience.. the research doc i work for allowed me to rotate in the ortho department for a month.. where i scrubed for plenty of cases. so i hope all these things come in handy. good luck to all.. any advise is appreciated.

Congratulations for passing this test. About the match, I just heard about this, not directly from that guy who matched in neurosurgery with low 80s in prematch program in New York. That guy did research in neurosurgery for four to five years, may be some observeship in same area. Maybe you can try the same way. I guess prematch will be a good way to get into a competitive speciality. Not so sure.
