my query is f u did not match, & was even luck in scramble what do u do next?? r u allowed 2 apply next yr or is it over??

I dont think it is not over if you do not match. If you don't match during on-going match process, or during the post-match, you can apply to match the following year. At the end of each match period, however, the documentation you submitted to ERAS becomes obsolete. ERAS returns your paperwork upon your request so you may salvage some of these documents for next year or ERAS trashs them. Next match session, you need to start the paperwork all over again. If you do not match for 7 years or so, then you will be in trouble since your ECFMG certificate expires, I believe.

It is not over at all!!! You can apply for as long as you want!!! Imagine if you would not be able to apply again once you did not match the first time..... I know a lot of people that would not be trying this time around...lucky for all of us we can try for as long as our strenght and pockets (offcourse!!) last

Also there are so many people that start in Septembers, December or they just have experience from another program(residency) and they get short so you might want to try out of ERAS.
In the past I know you could go directly to the hospital and apply avoiding ERAS, but I think now you cant.
