Waiting on ECFMG certification

I've run into quite a bit of a dillema. I had everytin planned out and was going to take my step 3 this year and all. Well there was a problem with the mail and it didnt reach ECFMG twice and finally I opened a DHL account and sent it.

The thing is I'm waiting certification and i've got a 96/99/pass and 2 months usce and was all prepared to apply sept 1 with a ECFMG certificate. Now thanks to this mess I may not get my certification and may not have one when I apply sept 1 but will have finished the basic requirement.

Do porgrams that require ECFMG certification before applying consider my application given that i've passed all my eaxms or will they still not look at my application.

Appreciate your input...........

with the scores u got and it is officially completed....apply on sep 1...

when the prgrams means that they want u to be ECFMG certified is complete all steps..u will get ur certificate...

Different program have different requirements. Some want you certified when you apply, some want it by December 1, some want it by the time the match list goes in. No "easy fit" answer.

oh ok, I thought it was more to do with giving all the three steps. Since they dont have to wonder if you have passed all the exams. Since i'm done with my and just coz some wait getting stuck for the certification.

Hi, Zygone, you mentioned you let ECFMG mail the letter by courrier. Please clarify they do have the service to mail out the letter by other ways other than the regular mail?

I am in the same boat. My school made some mistakes and it costed 6 months for ECFMG to send the second letter and the worst part is the second letter was lost! Now I have to wait another 3 months fore resending... Not sure if this affects my 2008 match or not...

Hey you dont have to wait 3 months or anything, just open a account with a courrier service like DHL, fax ecfmg a letter saying whatever and you want your credentials to be sent again and give them the account number. they'll send it throu the courrier.
