Hi! I have already posted this on the study partner thread but I guess this is the better place for it, so here we go again OK, I'm a student of the University of Tübingen and I will start my PJ now. I'm gonna take step 1 by December so if anyone is doing their step 1 exam in the near future and is interested in some serious prep for it, I would like to hear from her/him! To the german students who have already taken their step 1 exams, care to share some tips or your experiences? Alex

Work at a hospital in the US as a program coordinator in Internal Medicine. But my heart remains securely locked in Deutschland. I would have stayed if I could have. But I needed a visa to get a job. Didn't work, so I came home. Good luck with the application for residency!

Hi, I moved 1 year ago from Germany to US for USMLE preparation. I practiced in Germany for 3 years. Well, I took step 1 and Step 2CK and CS. I am trying to match next year. Right now I am studying for Step3. It was a hard way to go and and I hope it will pay off. Anyways, if you have any specific questions just ask me because I think I know pretty much how this works. By the way bbb I just have to ask you that now that got the possibility: Do you think I have good chances to get a residency in internal medicine? My scores are 92 in step 1 and 99 in step 2, no US experience but worked almost 4 years in germany in internal medicine/pulmunology and I need a H1B Visa Thanks a lot!!

Oh, I guess I was so excited to see a program director that I missed your signature. Sorry about that.

waitstom, your advantages are: great scores, from germany (really a plus, i saw that on my interviews), and 4 yrs of medicine in germany is also good. not so good is your cut off of more than 5yrs, no usce, and more than one year of not working. i dont know how the rest of your CV looks but try to get at least one US-LOR. but all in all denke ich dass du schon gute bis sehr gute chancen hast. apply widely and wisely and do well at the interview. Thanks so much falcon, your encouragement helped a lot. Unfortunately, the rest of my CV is pretty boring ( I just recently discovered how ambitious I can be, hope it is not too late ). Good luck and Servus (ich rate mal du kommst aus Bayern).
