Today I sat for the Step 2 CK. If you have any questions send me a shout. Just some tips for you guys that haven't taken the exam... Keep on pushing because there is light at the end of this tunnel! It is DOABLE. It is true that there are some core/high yield topics that the NBME want you to know. These points are easy points and you will be suprised that they ask you these points in such a simplistic manner. I made sure not to miss these and I hope that I got them right. I asked myself a couple times " are you kidding me" when I ecountered them. These give away questions comprise of about 30% of the exam. The other 30-40% are the "apply what you know questions". I think that if you understand the majority of concepts in UW you will be good. I suggest you make "great-OCD" notes on all the explanations. Arrange your notes in away that compares and contrasts all the disease in that category. And the rest, I guess these are the difficult/vague questions that everyone keeps talking about. Mine showed up in the last 2 blocks and had me scratching my head. My first two blocks were fairly easy. Middle blocks were moderately difficult. And the last blocks were still doable but i guess through exhaustion they just seem harder. So here was the breakdown of my exam. I guess I got one of those weirdly distributed exams because my exam was like half Peds/half IM. Everytime I would get a question on IM, the next would be a Peds question. Even with the matching sets, it was like that. The rest of the topics were evenly distributed. The Psych questions are really long and one or two I had to guess. Know your Psych well. Or they will serve you on a platter, if you take this subject lightly. Lot of Rheuma and Musculoskeletal jumbled with Neuro. Biostats 3 questions. One electrolyte imbalance.. and easy. The OB/Gyn questions were pretty well tested and some had me stumped. If you master Kaplan and UW you will be fine. This test is very unique in that they will ask you different questions on the same topic. So select HY topics and know them well. Well I'm off to dreamland, I haven't slept in 24 hours. I don't know if I passed but I had a way better feeling on this exam than any of the step 1 exams I took. Is that good or bad? Just one last tip. If you are unsure about a question just put the answer that first comes to your mind and mark it. I marked like 10-20 questions per block and usually had time to go over them. I changed about 5 answers, hopefully to correct ones. Good luck all. Now the wait....................................................................... ..................

Good luck! I'm sure you did well! Do you mind me asking if the majority of the questions on your exam were long i.e the question stems are 30-35 lines? I'm just a little worried about the time pressure. I've noticed that the questions in the CD and NBME are fairly short, but some previous test takers mentioned the exam is the opposite. Try to relax and best of luck on your score...

check out FA step 2 CK cases. That longest question stems will be found there. The stem style I found was closest to that book. You wont find anything longer than those questions. I was expecting a lot longer cases, but they were more moderate in length. And believe it or not lots of 3 or 4 liners.

hi, i took the test today, and they tested all the possible diseases, and confused me with so many DDs for each one. they asked the same sort of question in many different twisted ways. learn all bout psychiatric drugs,a nd that little table in Kaplan on psychotherapy. i just wish i had seen it once more before my exam...!!!

Mood Disorders from all the clusters, Schizophrenia. Psych Drugs but not straightforward. Done in a way that they would ask second line drugs if one doesn't work. Caution also to those reading exam experiences. What people post really does come out. But you have to be cautious, because they will put what they thought to be the answer to that question. I encountered a good bit of these questions on the exam but remembered just what they posted, these are the questions I marked and good thing I did. Upon second look, I noticed that these answers were wrong. I'm not saying that everyone posting there experiences posted wrong answers, im just saying its wat thy remembered to be the answer. watch out. I wouldnt really on July exam experiences. They are changing the format of the exam/video and audio clips by tomorrow. Look for exam experiences from tomorrow onward to get tips. But then again, they may include july experiences also. so wouldnt hurt. hope this helps.

Thanks guys you are the best... and good luck on all your exams and match season. I'm really wondering about that test now. But honestly, If i failed it I will be shocked and it will be something like in the 70 range. God I hope not. There is just really no way to look up your answers after your exam. If I have to do this over again. I'm going to do NBME in TUTOR mode.. and look up answers.. wish I would've done it sooner... please pray for me guys..I need to pass this exam and I deserve to pass it.
