which one best for dx?
tc bone scan
MRI?

kaplan says MRI, UW says MRI is best for vertabrae and feet, the rest is tc bone scan.

The best diagnostic study for osteo is MRI-high sensitivity.
Bone scan is good for initially but has low specificity.
Reference: emedicine

well this is what i knew but i got the same q wrong on UW, as i chose MRI but the ans was bone scan..(if i rememb right, isn't bone scan of better results for earlier dis)

which is first investig for metast---Bone scan or MRI..

I know its bone scan, so u wouldn't just go doing a whole sceletal MRI, then followed by MRI in areas with high uptake to evalute extent..Is this right

Main problem for these two options is the cost of MRI... I recall MRI as the best test to Dx ostemyelitis, but if MRI is unavailable, then the Tc-bone scan is the option
