Kaplan Qbank USMLE

hi this is an important question and i really appreciate any help i can get asap.

okay so i am doing micro . i have used kaplan, along with clinical micro made simple, and am puttin all the info into cue cards to make it easier for me to get.

question... in the kaplan notes whatever it says about the so called bacteria, virus, parasite, fungi, etc is that all that is necessary to know??

like for pox virus, kaposi sarcoma, it barely has more than a word besides their structure and capsid , etc. is that all that is necessary to know??!

i am going thruogh my other micro textbooks just to fill in the HUGE GAPS that kaplan is leaving me in terms of a virus's patho, clinicals, diagnostics.

those of you who have done micro, was it because that stuff wasn't high yield, so it wasnt bothered with. or did you also learn form other sources, because kaplan slipped up?!

please let me know, so far i am adding my own info.

the virus section is very small, it just mainly focuses on hepatitis, and hiv.

i have just assumed is hould know the class family, ie-if it has an envelope, what polarity strand, what shape.
as well as what virus names it produces and what those virus names produce. and what that virus name produces, and brief treatment and signs.

ie. parvo virus: single stranded, no envelope, isohedral.
makes b19 virus: which makes slap cheek rash, lacy rash on body, aplastic anemia, hydropis fetalis.

and the treatment, and the main patho involved

is that beneficial?? or am i going too extra.
