I asked one of the US attendings to write me a lor since I had an elective under him and he agreed. I sent the cover letters over to his secretary who's arranging the whole thing and it's been two weeks and she still hasn't sent it to ecfmg. I politly sent her a email this week (only one so far) askin if she had sent it and she said not yet.....and she would let me know when she does.....
Do they usually take so much time or r they just blowing me off ???? what'd ya think BBB

Are they currently rounding on an in patient service? Rounding at a couple of hospitals and then have a full practice? It's important for you to have a letter, but that doesn't mean that it's important that they drop what they are doing to write it for you. It's not fair, but life isn't.

Guess you're right, but hope that doesn't mean they are blowing me off. I mean they will send it eventually ???

I understand your problem maybe you don't have the kind of relationship with the attending to make things faster as it sounds since you are doing it through his/her secretary. It might take a while...I guess all there is to you is to wait one more week and if is not done yet you should go to his/her office and try to speak to the secretary or if you can with the attending. GL hope it turns out well for u.

Hey thanks. Well I was under him as a med student when I was doing a clerkship rotation there. So he knew me quite well and filled out a very good review on my student assesment form. The thing is that it's been more than a year since then and now so..............
