Kaplan Qbank USMLE

Just a brief note about my CK. Exam is fair but Qs were more tricky compared to step 1. I had to guess much more than I did at step 1. Even if you know the content real well, you could get stuck between 2 choices.

Format is very similar to NBME and I would have benefitted if I went through all NBME Qs and found answers. However, I must say that Kaplan notes combined with DVD lectures were the greatest resource I had. I wish I had time to go through notes with lectures one more time before exam. UW is a very good learning tool too.

I think 60% was from IM. Preventive medicine, neurology, cardiology (including all murmurs), hemat, infectious disease were very high yield. Had about 10 Qs from ethics (mostly vague) and several from development, adoloscence, defence mechanisms. Cardio, hemat and infections from ped. Truama lectures were very high yield for surgery. Not that much from Ob-Gyn except pv bleeding and screening.Few simple Qs from statistics.

I am very glad I read recent exam experiences which warned me to be very cautious. I will be happy to answer any more questions.

Thank you guys.
Hi , Salo, I did not get any audio or video clips. ea, I took NBME form 3, 10 days before exam and got 560 (232) and worked real hard on next 10 days on weak areas.

Just an update again. I got a 260(99).

I opened the e score report and could not breath for a while. 99 was surprising enough but 260 was not thought of. First I want to thank my husband for taking the role of both mom and dad for kids and working long nights to leave me time for my observer ship. I also want to thank malithahe, my study partner for support and encouragement. And to this forum for opening my eyes to the world of USMLE and keeping me on track.
Best of luck to every body out there studing for this hurdle. I will be happy to answer any questions.

BTW, how do you find each other, dinie and malithahe as study partner? I really want to find one for myself so we can help and encourage each other. Or else it is easy for me to get off track and waste a lot of my time. Thanks for sharing. Congratulations for both of you again!smiling facesmiling face

Thank you everybody for nice words. Hi, njcjzy, I met my study partner through this forum. Guessed from the name that we could be from the same country and I was right. We did over the phone discussions, shared study material and really helped each other to be in track.
