I am Indian IMG, with 18yrs exp in Ob & gyn .in midlle eastern counteries. Now i am in states . Can somebody adv me if it is advisable to for USMLE , residency ??. I also want to know if i can do something else like some courses instead of USMLE .

i don't know what you are asking. do you want to be an MD in the US? or do you want to switch careers? the are other options if you do want to switch careers, but you can always try to be an MD in the US. you will have start from the beginning which is passing the USMLES, applying to residency. if you are considering other options, then there is going to school to be a PA, RN. or you can look for a research assistant position. etc. Many states require being a graduate of a nursing school, or physician assistant programs and passing all the tests. Others have come to the US and were lucky of find a position working in an MD office, working more like an MD but being paid so much less than that. But that is risky. and you can have malpractice issues. I am not saying either way. many have done and many haven't. i guess you need to look honestly at your own situation and determine what you want to do. i am not Indian, so i don't know any of the cultural issues, if that is another issue.
