please post ur experience after u get a paid clerkship...but be careful there are many false companies best is to meet them in person...

y dont u try fmg affordable...clerkship is costly u need a health insure,malpractice insure,hipaa certificate,...

i contact them many times (americlerkships) and wanted to get experience from any who did , they say u pay and they do all things and arrange all , u dont need your own malpractice they cover u , i just want know , if i get LORs after complete with them , residency programs consider such LORs or not!?

ok see wether someone meets them in person on ur behalf...check wether this company is registered..i had checked it once..couldnt get it..i doubt it is genuine i was cautious of not losing money..

generally these are very expensive ...somehow i never hear any feedback from any one who has tried it
if u are a moslem doctor try to tap into the muslim doc network. Look up the CAIR rep in your area, or IMANA network and ask for doctor names...make a target to call 5-10 potential candidates ..if you are pakistani call APNA their physician organization Also look up all community clinics and call and ask for clinical attachment...prepare your 2 minute speech and tell anyone who will listen.
it gives you good practice in being a bit thick skinned and for coming interview season, and its for free...dont fork over your money so soon

i tried search on google for muslim doc network and imana but failed to reach any , i didnt understand about CAIR issue , as iam in Egypt and in my area no Cair , please if u can give me links for any i will be more thankful

saquib, what's up with the HIPAA act as being one of the tough prerequisities to get? I don't get it! I got mine by completing some trainings online. 30 minutes of work.. Certainly not a limiting thing to do electives!...

@ moslem doctor, it is kind of hard to get USCE if you talk to ppl from Egypt unless you have aa confirmed date of cominng here and maybe even some idea of where u will be stying. Then you can start looking in the general area. For instance if u spend some money they you can get gmcgroup etc to arrange somethng for you..i have no idea about these ppl but i know some ppl who do handson externship with them mainly in the atlanta area. they usually take ecfmg certified docs..but i am not sure..i dont know what yr options are so it is hard to narrow it down..

by ecfmg certified i mean that you have passed step 1,2ck and 2CS and ecfmg has verifeid yr credentials and then they send you an ecfmg cert to that effect.
if these companies are genuine and get you hands on inpatient and outpatient work and these lors you get as a result from US doctors also say you did a good job then YES the programs will consider these.
also note that anything is better than sitting home..even observation i a doctors office is better than nothing..but try for externship in a hospital setting as tha is best since it resembles what u will be doing in residency
however these companies are not theonly way ..most ppl dont use them and use thier contacts here or go from doctor to doctor , try to present a good case to be taken on and usually do it for free or for the cost of health insurance
