THESE ARE THE QUESTIONS WHICH SHOULD BE ASKED:

1--WHAT ARE YOUR SCORE REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICANTS?

2--WHAT IS THE GRADUATION YEAR CUTT OFF YOU ACCEPT IN YOUR PROGRAM??

3-DO YOU NEED ALL USMLE STEPS TO BE PASS AT FIRST ATTEMPT?

4-WHAT PERCENTAGE IS IMMIGRANTS IN YOUR PROGRAM?

5-DO YOU REQUIRE U.S CLINICAL EXPERIENCE FOR THE APPLICANTS??

6-WHAT KIND OF VISA DO YOU SPONSER??

I THINK THESE ARE THE MAIN QUESTIONS WHICH ANSWER MOST OF THE QUERIES ASKED BY IMG DOCS.SO PLEASE START EMAILING THE PROGRAMS AND HELP EACH OTHER.
REMEMBER THIS IS NOT COMPETITION WHO WILL GET RESIDENCY FIRST.WE WILL ALL END UP WHERE GOD INTENDS US TO GO.IF WE HAVE THOUGHTS OF NOT HELPING EACH OTHER ,THAT WILL NOT HELP US.

GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP OTHERS.
SO PLEASE START EMAILING STATEWISE AND START PUTTING THE CRITERIA IN THESE POSTS.
WE ALL NEED TO PAY FOR THE APPLICATION AND THEN INTERVIEWS.IT IS GOING TO COST ALOT FOR US.

THANKYOU ALL

Hi hawaiii
I graduated 2003 from IRAN,
Due to mandatory national serveice in IRAN I served 2 years in military hospitals as a doctor(2003-2005) then
I studied 1 year academic ENGLISH to pass IELTS exam ( July 2006)
and a couple of months ago I passed Australian Medical Council exam ( March 2007)
BUT
still i could not find a job ( 3 - 4 months )

My first plan was USA , but I saw some guys that rejected ( visa) so I decided to came to australia and getting job and during this job ; study and take USMLE exams then apply for visa in Australia
But if I can not find job in next 2 months unfortunately I sholud Come back to IRAN
so I am afraid of I mean even if I get good scores in exams ( which at least regarding my IQ take 14 to 15 months, I mean both exams) , the graduation year ( 2003) makes me problems,,, what do you think?
I strongly look forward to hearing from you.

Thank you for considering the UMKC Internal Medicine or the Internal Medicine / Pediatrics Residency Program. All PGY levels of training are full. We are considering scores of 225 or higher or approximately 91% on both steps I & II and you must be ECFMG certified by the time of rank. For the 2008 interview season we accept applications only through ERAS. You must have graduated from medical school within the last 5 years and have had patient contact within the last year. U.S. clinical experience is helpful but not a requirement. We will only sponsor J1 visas through the match and a few H1B visas on a limited case-by-case basis with the discretion of the Program Director. Approximately 3/4 of our residency consists of IMG's. We will offer 11 Preliminary positions, 12 Categorical positions, and 6 Medicine/Pediatrics positions beginning July 1, 2008 (number subject to change). We do not offer formal Observerships or Externships in our program. Check out our website at www.med.umkc.edu/education/residency. Good luck in your residency search.

    Dear Osteosarcoma 56,

you had asked me for an advice. The only advice I can give you at this time is that keep going no matter what.
I know it is sad that you havenot found a job in Australia yet ,but keep trying and when you get a stable job over there you can start preparing for usmle.

As far as going back to Iran is concerned and getting a visa is something I couldnot answer.
I cannot say if you will get a visa from Iran.It might take minutes to get it or God forbid not.
You are still a fresh graduate so try clearing usmle and if it is your dream to come to USA and practise here.Go after your dream and keep working hard no matter what. And one day you will see that it will come true.
    good luck to youwinkwink
