i know that this is stupid. i know that this isn't just asked. i know that its a complex calculation that involves mind-boggling statistical methods ( for simpletons like me anyway... ) and i also that there is some thread somewhere that has got this covered. BUT.... my step 2 CK is in 5 days, so could someone put a reliable number to this question...? HOW MANY QUESTIONS or PERCENT of questions do we need to crack correctly to be sure of a 99...? i apologise for my idiocy, but i would still like to be humored with responses please....!

jajajaja who knows!!! I got a 99 and I don't thing I got every question right, I can say that I had a very good idea in a high percentage of question but who knows jajaja but good question though I guess everybody would like to have a straightforward answer on that. I'm sorry that I can't help you though. Do what I did... I studied hard enough to walk out of that exam filling proud of myself and knowing that I did my best no matter what my score was and I did... I got out of that exam filling very calm and happy with myself and it turned out way better then my wildest dreams. Do your very best and leave the rest to God. Take care and good luck!!!

One thing I can say...I fill that I had probably an 80% of questions right or at least I felt very confident in about 80% or maybe a little more. And very few questions or any I had no idea of. But in the end who knows jajajaja

if you get 37 or more in each block then you might be close or get 99
