In the IM book from kaplan it says that they need people to apply to that areashocked, I kind of like it to and its clinical and you can do some research tonod.

So what are the minimun needs for neurology?
So far I have a couple in mind and the more I read about neurology in USA the more interesting it becomes.
But anyhow I have my other 2 sweet areas.

Neuro is a speciality branch so you have to kinda convince them as to why neurology. I mean teh AMGs start extensive clinical experience from PGY2 istelf and they usually end up doing great clinical research by the time they graduate. IMGs (of course not all) usually lack behind in this field and hence our personal statements lack those witty and mystery solving cases which we have NEVER seen....so our motivation to medicine/neurology is our grandmother being sick of cancer or our mother having Alzheimers and something like. Usually a very hard sell....as you can imagine. So research background in neuroscience helps make your case for neurology.....but even that (like my case) doeasnt make you a hot prospect automatically.....so go figure....
