Hey all the '08 matchees, Have a question here to everyone. Since this is the time that we all start buying lists and stuff I wanted to ask you all who have bought a residency list from some website or the other to please meantion it here. If you could just say, 1. from where you bought a list, 2. how much u paid for it for how many programs , 3. Which subject, 4. Did it meet your expectations or rather was it accurate from your account.

I heard that those places are a rip of money, because you get those programs just by looking at the internet, or some website has a free list of the same hospitals and they will not charge you for the list.

i think free lists are old but i am not sure is these paid lists are that much updated. Dont have any experience. But this whole emailing programs is driving me nuts. According to most requirements i qualify to apply, but thats not the whole story .... Some maybe not at all FMG friendly so you have to go thru their current residents list if available. Then if you want a fellowship opportunity, then we have to look for that too. So all in all its a lot of work . I really want to avoid i.e not apply in highly competitive program where according to the criteria i qualify...dont know how to go about that...Confused...want to buy a list...dont know which one will be best.

Yhea I'm in the same boat as you sarika but the thing is I got a review bout imgexperts.com from a senior who matched but the site doesn't seem to be opening. Also i'm pretty sure some ppl have already bought lists in here and hpefully should be getting inputs from them....

Hey azygous , do they mention number or % of FMGs in their program? That way we will have a better idea if they are really gonna think abt US?

I think it is easy to call programs and ask about their requirements.I have called some programs in NY ,the PC answered to my questions with pateince. We will get more details regarding the programs like H1 sponsor by calling them rather than from commercial websites.
