Many programs state that they don't sponsor any visa for IMGs, does it mean any IMG requiring visa can't get in there or he still can possibly make it there with the help of ECFMG sponsored J1 visa ?
Please clarify as I have to narrow down my list of prog where I would apply
Thanks smiling face

No...it means that ECFMG the one who sponsors J1 visa for you. Or they program doesn't offer H1 visa. So you will be doing your residency on J1.

Hi minang:
Can you please answer my question?

what I understood from bbb's post 'DO NOT SPONSOR VISA means that they won't complete the paper work for you to get a visa. You most likely wouldn't be interviewed there because when they see your application, they will know that you need a visa" is that programs who say that we donot sponsor visa means they won't call us for an interview because most probably they'll not even help us to get an ECFMG SPONS. J1, so will it be wise to pay money for those programs?

Thanks!

csusmlecan...

when a program mentions that it doesnt sponsor any visas...my reading is that they dont accept j1 visas also...even though ecfmg does all the paperwork....those progs only take in citizens and gc....so i wudnt waste money applyin to these even if i want a j1 visa..

gd luck
