are u sure about that dr in trouble? because first of all now a days they have these protective cloths with sunscreen in the fabric! secondly, if you for example wear sunscreen everyday on your forearm during summer, and wear short sleeves, by the end of summer your forearm is tanned(through sunscreen, just to a less degree) but the part of your arm bein covered by cloths is not. So sunscreen even high SPFs doesn't protectc you completely.

actually sunscreen alone is not effective but it is used as an adjunct to avoiding sun exposure in the middly of the day, if pt needs to be outside

Sunscreen also have not proven to be beneficial in the prevention of melanoma but shown to be good for prevention of other type of skin cancer such as SCC

standing under shades - give 70% protection (30% exposure b/c of reflection of radiation)

Is sunscreen better protection compared to standing in the shade?
How? There is no sun in the shade... Standing in the shade would be almost the same as avoiding sun exposure by staying inside, right?
confused
maybe i'm missing something.
