Hi diary land,
I am planing to take the exam in sept. one read of kaplan books e/psychiatry till now and doing UW. I wasted too much time and I hope this diary will help me to focus.
I will try to do 2 blocks of q before going to bed.so help me God!

I couldn't do 2 blocks last night. But did one block on nephrology and scored 64. Today I am going to do the infectious disease questions.
I was reading and reareading the kap books for step 1 instead of doing many questions and the result was not as I wanted. so for step 2 I should concentrate on soloving many questions and learn from them. There are 107 infectious d/s qs and i will do them in tutor mode and learn from them.
Help me God!

I have done 35% of UW with 65 cumulative score. I am doing them in tutor. I know if I do them in timed mixed mode my result will be lower. But in tutor mode I can use the knowledge I accuire from one question to answer another qs in the same block. I guss this will help me to retain more information.
I don't know why I get distracted easly.Baby number 2 is on its way. I have to finish ck and cs before the baby comes but I lack the determnation and motivation. what is the matter with me?disapproval

HEY I have a suggestion just give OB/GYN to baby number 2 and you study the rest, you see right there one less topic to studygrin

good luck on your testwink
UW is a learning tool, use NBME for assesment

Hi Light 09, I am also planning to take the exam at the end of September. I thought maybe I could join you in encouraging each other. I do not have a baby, but work part-time (which I know is less than a 24 hr mom work, but is still a distraction). I think so far you are doing great with juggling your studies and family!

I am done with the first read of Kaplan notes. Now I am doing the second read. I am left with Internal Medicine and Pediatrics for a second read.
I started doing Qbook. I did 70 and 72 % on the two Psych tests that are there, untimed, checking the answers after every 5 questions. Is that an ok score?
I am planning to take UW for couple of months starting on August 1st and doing it untimed.

Today is my first day of Internal Medicine second time read. I calculated that if I read 35 pages per day than I will be done in 10 days with Internal Med. I will try doing UW questions by sub-specialties, because I am concerned that if I do Kaplan Q book IM tests they have all the sub-specialties mixed up and this will only bring my score and confidence down and will not help me learn. After I am done with the UW IM Qs than I will do the Kaplan Qbook Qs in IM. Do you think this is a good plan?

I am also working part-time, so I take this into account - some study days will be less than a whole study day.

Hello,
Today I was working so I am starting a little bit late my studies. It's already 3pm, but I'll try to do my best for the next 8 hours. Light 09 - how is your day going?

Thank you all,
I am glad to have freinds to encourage me.abusedpostdoc I am on my second read of kaplan like you. I too started today's reading late. I am reading hematology from kaplan. If I manage to finish it I will try to do questions from UW on the same topic.
