i am not very sure abt this . she has been taking tmp-smz for the past year , but has had the rash sice only 2 weeks. a maculopapular itchy rash on the trunk? eosinophils 15% , not febrile. so i guess it sounds like a drug reaction, but why so delayed? is it a cumulative effect? anybody any explanations?

If she is having recurrent UTIs she is probably taking the drug very often over the past year... maybe she could tolerate it at a lower amount, but like you said, as a cumulative effect over a long period of time she developed the rash.. thats the only explanation i can think of.
