do guestions. all the questions you can do. uw is the best i think but qbank is a good base too. FA can be helpful, but the exam isn't about memorization and recall. it is about comprehension and so doing questions can help facilitate that.

DOING QS is a must but i don't understand ur problem........How can u do an exam without reading for it?  I wish I were a genious too! 
Are u a Student or a recent grad? Anyway GL. 
BUT DO DO ur FA AND UW VERY WELL BEFORE GOING FOR THE TEST

hi, actually step 1 forum is so busy, coz everyone's busy helping everyone else. anyway, this was the first post by you that i've seen around here.
what is your current status? med sch grad? how long? what is your day schedule like? you did mention that your basic sciences foundation is good? still step 1 needs you biuld a lot on top of your foundation.
most people would say that 1 month alone is never enough to take and ace the step 1 exam. but you know your situation and circumstances best. you know how well you study under extreme time constraints. you know how feasible it is for you to perhaps postpone your date, if required.
the material for step 1 is very vast[as it is for 2 ck i presume] i have been preparing for the past 2 months, and i still have at least a month to go to complete my first read. i still find myself barely keeping up with the daily subject matter that i cover, and to prepare for the next day.
but, that's just me. you might be capable of much more.
concerning the specific books, there's tons of advice in this forum. spend some time going through, if you have not already done so. get back here if you have any specific qns.

Which forum you're talking about, if ever post Q ask b4, there always a help on the way .
So stop beingggggggg blaming no help at your 1st post...not even post for any Q & ask for help.  to make this wonderful good truely helping hand p4u site looks bad
Also to get the best help, advice , better mention your back ground in general at least med school at where , student or grad or recent grad or long ago etc.

actually i read for step one one year ago but then i gave MCCEEfor cananda so there was a gap . n then i gave step 2 n cs (another gap)n now again i have to revise everything for step one. due to soem personal reasons i couldnot give step one coz i was going to canada so i thought it was a waste of time. UNLUCKILY i got back to US after giving exams in canada. so i thought it was better idea to give step 2 first because that was similar to canadian exams. n i did read anatomy,patho,genetics,pharma for that exam too. so thas y i said that my basics r not very old.
so i think thas a sufficient introduction of POOR me giving all sorts of exams after my graduation in 2005.n now i just want to apply for 2008 match n thas y i wanna give step one sooner than later..

oopse , didn't know you're canadian, in that case you're forgiven to complaint at the opening of this 1st post here .
I understand the frustration of canadian IMG .
I'm confuse, Canadian IMG or just IMG live in USA, try to write MCCEE , WHYYYYYYYYY .
Even Canadian local grad or canadian IMG are doing USMLE alone .
Any way , back to st 1 study, continue your journal, you just open recently, we'll all guide you.
You're half done the st 1study , 2/3 done .
Also all done steps , except st 1, so go for 2008 match, apply on Sept 1 if st 2 score is very good, no fail CS pass, no st 1fail, do not waite st 1 exm or result. But sit st 1 on time b4 residency start .
