I am really depressed that I am not able to score well in Psychiatry in UW--I am in 50th percentile and it has been a weak area right from step 1. can anybody suggest me what should I do now? 3 weeks left---Should I have to solve new questions or study UW and KAPLAN again---I think I am NOT thinking in the right way in these ETHICS questions. When 83% answered in UW----I am getting it wrong always--Can anyone guide me please?

Hey sprint!
Don't freak out... that will only be counterproductive... First of all take a deep breath and tell yourself that if you have come this far, you can definitely make it through this!

For Psych, study ONLY your weak subjects... for example what do you have trouble with? -- psych meds? mood disorders? cognitive disorders? If you can't pinpoint the topic, then find out which UW questions you got wrong, and read ONLY that chapter or section in Kaplan again.

For Ethics, its not too bad... Just read over the rules once again. When you are doing a question, don't try to think what you would do in that situation... Think: WHICH RULE applies to this case.. And you should be able to find the answer from that point on. Every Case will correspond to a Rule which has a set guideline of what to do and what NOT to do.

Yea that's true don't freak out! Go over it again. If u can u sud use BRS B.Sc. for same. U can get it from medicalheaven. GL. u'll be fine. Just relax! nod

Thanks a lot DrVirgo and mytime. I really appreciate it! A very good point by you DrVirgo--Don't think what you will do --think to apply the rule--Will try from Now onwards and today I am going to review things and post it here if stuck!

hey sprint123.

stay calm. thas teh key. and for psych as dr.virgo said focus on weak areas only and may be wt u could do is memorize time lines for the diagnosis. like schizophrenia,shizophreniform,shizoaffective n bipolar. they confuse on those things. just read the diagnostic criteria of each one carefully and for personality disorders i feel they r nicely summarized n differentiated well in FA. n may be antipsychotics r not well covered by uw so read them once again. im sure it will be easy for u.
