awesome thread, fz!! inspirational. i did not know your story, and i have felt the same directionless, almost hopeless feeling, not even living life, just existing....feeling good-for-nothing. nobody says anything, but you know exactly what they are thinking....i know the feeling

WOW FEZYA!!!!!!!!! I think when I'm done I sud make a similar thread ! It's amazing. And so true....each of one sud write one actually and put it into a section called. In retrospection!!!!!

so after that miracle day I was locked in my room and pinned to my laptop table for 3 breakless days !!! I kept reading and reading and reading !! with a silly half open mouth ...a peaceful soul , a new-born selfconfidence ( who would be a toddler in a couple of months and now actually is a peer to my popping-on-one-feet son  and YOU DID THIS ) and angry husband asking what I was doing on my laptop till midnights
so I shake...collect my books all together...buy new colored papers and highlighters and post-it notes to attract me and make a new schedule and start off with path !!!
THE FIRST TIME IN MY USMLE LIFE I READ A BOOK FROM COVER TO COVER ! without feeling desperate ... still very very slow but who cares !! I am studying and am not alone !!

FZ sis, enjoy , have fun with your bro.
I did with my last 3 week relatives visit here, also have not seen for ages till last 3 week . Now I miss them behind here . So still try to recruit myself to get the full study, not quite yet, coming along .
Thanks for the sharing of true story , love it, wish will be a big screen, so ppl will understand, cry, angry, upset, laugh, then feel relieve & success after the end .......that's true IMG life especially for XX , with dedicate to family life .
Expect to read more here , well said sis, well said .
St 2 in Sept will have new dvd , with new video clip as in exm by kap center , just to let you know .

WOW !! ACTUALLY I MYSELF IS LOLING TO ME
with all this confusion,gathering of new info and building of self belief...I was still very slow and had ni idea about how to pace up... I was begging my husband to teach me how to study cuz I did wanted it now but didnt know how to cram this huge lot of things that were 8 yrs b4 in my life still I was putting great effort in a very slow way !
then I remembered how I used to study like crazy b4 my final weeks in college and decided to apply the exam ...I knew this would boost me up and it did !!!
I lost like a week with that stupid form 180whatever  and finally took the day as 20 june

I remember seeing my days melting away like ice cream in August sun and having goosebumps and cramps and swearing to myself bc I applied b4 I read all books at least once...
April 7th was the second miracle day for me and from april 7 to june 19...I studied like crazy !! closed my cell phones...told everyone in my life in the kindest way possible that I was N/A till the exam...didnt cook ( poor hubby I love you ) ...didnt sleep more than 5 hrs a day ... didnt eat a lot bc I felt sleepy whenever I did ... nothing !! just a frozen robot ...only human activity is to breath and read !!!
and my son...I took him to his favourite shopping center that day ! we sat by the pool and he felt something important was going on ! ( he is clever ,little puppy ) I tried to explain him in the most loving way that I was gonna be through some super-busy period for some time...
I told him : " come here ...we gotta talk...you know how much I love you and how much I care about the time we spend together...but there are some times in human life that things may become more difficult ...but every difficulty pays off bringing some good result...so ...you know what an EXAM means ...do you want me to get a very hard one and be a doctor like your father and earn money ...and with that money we can have a better life and send you to good schools and help poor people and a lot more ??" he was listening with wide open eyes...I went on : " so I will have to leave you for a bit longer and go to the library but whenever you feel bored or do not want me to go... tell me and I can give a break for some short time..."
he said " I wanna see the library " we did he liked it there and made me promise he would come to see me whenever he missed me
he said: " its like when the milk in your breast finished ...I started to drink it from glass...so our play time is also finished ?? "
you know how easily me the stupid can cry !!! I bite my tongue and said : surely not ...were gonna give a break but that will bring us the happiest and funnest summer in our life ok ?? he liked the idea and agreed !!!!!
so MUMS : we actually are having the happiest summer in our life elhamdulillah so plz dont feel guilty or bad that you have to steal time from your sweethearts ...they all forget but the will-be-remembered-whole-life thing will be our scores !!
now I tell him...see Kerem...I would never ever give that exam without a mature boy like you ...and then make him up stories of kids who cry after their mums when going to the library and their mums couldnt give the exam...but I have the best kid in the world and he never did that and prayed for me so I passed !!! THERE IS NO SMILEY IN THE SIBER WORLD TO REFLECT HIS PROUD AND HAPPY FACE TO YOU
so ppl who write here PREP TIME 2.5 MONTHS driving others crazy are like this...I mean if you count these 2.5 months of my studyings...where I learned 80% of my info...I can say prep time 2.5 mo...otherwise I should say 3 years

APRIL 7 :
I start off with micro...I have 8 days sounds like a joke... but I listened to the DVDs carefully...even that was 1.5 yrs ago..better than none uh ?
as in every single book...first chapters read and all others pure clean
these bacteria...no big picture I gotta make a nice chart ...a colored one ! ok now all of them are in front of my eyes so I read one bug after another along with FA ...not bad...after the third pass...its all done...in 4 days !!! good job ! Feyza ...whats the problem with you girl ??? you really are studying
another chart for viruses ... good ...BUT I CANT MEMORISE THE CLASSIFICATIIOONNNN !! -SENSE + SENSE ....DS/SS... ok ok...just make a handy chart and leave it to be memorised later but do get the big picture...
parasites ( yes moderators I definetely want a sobbing smiley here !!!! ) .... what I did in these 2 months whenever a topic pushed me away... I gave it a new look... those charts in kaplan were horriblly long and scary so I did complete parasite palm cards ... in 2 precious days !!!! and I read them like 10 days in half of the second day ! ( I can hardly remember if I had any Qs except a malaria tx Q tho )
then crammed FA !!
once again and once again in that day !!
8 days already gone what am I supposed to do now ! already spoilt schedule...ok keep on... make a new one...3 days for immuno...15 hrs a day !!
ok done but in 13 days while planning in 8 ok ...skip to the next ...when am I gonna see the MCQs no I shouldnt have applied...ok keep calm !!
ALL THE FOLLOWING DAYS WILL BE LIKE THESE MY FRIENDS !! TILL 21 JUNE 9:00 am IN THE CENTER

mol bio read once...anything remembered ?? I dont think so
biochem ?? completely untouched but the guy in the DVDs was really good !!
enforcen mol bio... what the hell am I gonna use the SHINE-DALGARNO SEQUENCE INFO for in my career ok stop complaining ...take these as something that shows you the miracles of God !! ( the Qs in the exam also needed miracles for me to do )
biochem... there are pathways pouring out everywhere ! I guess the big pic is lacking again ...
so I made a big photocopy of the insulin/glukagon world chart in Kaplan and the figure in FA showing all the pathways together integrated ...colored them...
then I did the second messengers and the vitamins really good from kpln and FA !!
(am I forgetting micro by the way ????? go check !! yes I am eat a famotidine...keep calm !!)
then I made color charts of every single pathway and here starts the torture !!!!!!!!
I had to read every single pathway maybe 5 times...FA is very good in biochem tutoring ! ok...sand starts settling down...
BUT GOD !! AGAIN MORE TIME THAN PLANNED IS GONE !! still no MCQs maybe 20 a day !!
if I were gonna take the test now...I would learn only the RLEs and the diseases so will say idk how manyth time...NO DETAILS
GENETICS !!!!!!!!!!! I cant read pedigreeesss... ( the one in the exam was a very easy AD one ) .. H-W equation can be asked ??? if yes how ?? ( the one in the exam asked for the interpretation of the 2pq ) ...no time for MCQs again...ok 10 a day lets say...better than none...MRMAVERICK said only the first two chapters of genetics is HY so do only these two and FA !! ( so happy I did it bc that was enough ...all the diseases must be learned by heart tho...and the info in FA is enough for the diseases if you have the big pic clear enough from kaplan ) ...
ok..ok ..thats enough for biochem...but Ill stick the charts to my table so I can see them everyday !!!!
what next !!
10 more days are gone...ARE SCHEDULES DONE TO BE DISOBEYED !!!! I cant !!! how can I create extra hours...Im already doing 12 a day !
