HI Guys !
I just went to the ECFMG forum to make my CS appointment for september just to find out that there is no available date until next year ( January and February ) .How could it be possible ? I really have to clear this exam as soon as possible . They said that some centers may become available later . Who knows ? What if not ?
Can someone tell me what should I do please ? I also need a visa !

I had the same problem when I registered about a month ago. However if you stay on the CS scheduling page, keep refreshing, and spots usually open up now and then. I notice that more spots open up in LA and the system tends to show more open spots in the evenings presumably when people are cancelling their appointments. But be fast, these spots go in a matter of minutes or even seconds once they are open. Also, sign up for email notifications, sometimes that helps if you are fast enough to secure the spot. I do have another question for you . Which center do you think is mot likely to have available date soon? . I mean which one is less solicitated ? I guess Philadelphia is one of the most solicitated because the next available date is until february 2008 .

You are correct, doc. The Philly site is booked until February, and so far I have seen very few spots open up there.
Houston and Los Angeles seem to have the most openings per day, perhaps because of greater capacity there and thus more cancellations.
However, keep checking all five sites throughout your day and grab the first one you see! I have had luck in the early morning (4-7 AM EST). At least then you have a date before the end of the year and can find a way to exchange it or reschedule if necessary. 
And as I said on another thread, start preparing right away. You may find a date that is within a couple of weeks. Good luck, keep up your spirits and stay determined on your path!

hey people,
u can sign up for the Scheduling E-mail Notifications at ecfmg.
they will email u once there is an opening.
u can even make it email to ur cell phone directly, so u know immediately.
example if u r using AT&T, then ur 10-digit wirelless phone number@txt.att.net will be ur cellphone email id.

Recently I've seen a few spots, but usually within 1 week, at Chicago center. So if you are able, have your visa ready as soon as possible, and the money for the trip (it may be more expensive in a short notice), you may get lucky and have it this year...
