hi every body.
just did step two on 21 n now going for step one. want to do it really quick but dont know how to start. so plz guide me. i will just start from kaplan n q bank coz i want to give it very soon . although with tension n wait of result od ck n cs i wont be able to focuss much but still instead of worrying about something that has passed its bette rto start doing something.
starting my journel to motivate myself n folow a regular styudy plan. i will be studying 8 to 9 hrs daily n will try to finish the course soon. will start from immunology. thas my weak area since ever.

just dont know how to get started. doing kaplan qs of pathology. they r short as compared to the step 2 qs. ive that in book form so i think i will finish it soon.

i cant focus. every time i start reading the book ive a flash back of qs from the exam. they were so looong n scary. but i dont have any time to waste at all. still doing pathology and biochemistry. both my favourites but this result thing is so distracting.in patho im doing neoplasia . i read for 3 to 4 hrs from book. then stop n do qs .then in the evening i read biochem. i hope i will be able to finish both on weekend. i know i dont have time so need to be really quick.
ok going back to books. i think will write in the evening.i hardly stop myself from checking oasis although i know it has nthing so early but still ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

still doing patho n biochem. unable to finish any of them. started uw too. did one block. 56 only. biochem seems forgotten.. trying to do cycles. but atleast did one read. now at night will revise.

doing biochem n mol.biology.high yield is a good book but lippincott is simple best. it makes sence n easy to digest. uw is sooo hard. did 2 blocks. 60 n 58. dont understand the qs. i hope i can only give one more day to biochem n then im moving forward.next subject is micro which also needs a lot of effort. . everything seems so hard.

Hi doc-08, It is really inspiring to see you studying for step 1 --very soon.....It would be difficult to study without knowing the results but you will do it! Just make sure that you study well for step-1 right from the beginning since concepts are a bit more in step-1. Are you applying for this match? Read FA thoroughly and try to put UW and study KAPLAN retrospectively. if you could see PHYSIO lectures it would be great! All the best buddy!

well done with microbilogy atleast. it was good. memorizing proved hard . did qs from q bank n good that scoe was not terrible. now doing uw micro. hope to finish by evening. till now i dint do anything significant.
read biochemistry n molecular biology but dint get it well so need another read coz teh score in uw was 60 , 60 n 64. but i dont know wts teh average score to be comfortable. that my reading is not in vain.so les go back to qs.

thanks alot kity.
dint finish ydays target. baby was so cranky after immunization. well these things have to be like this. i need to focuss. i will start with qs again n after 12 i will start reading. if i scored low i will rerad micro again from FA otherwise i will start imunology. i will do three blocks. les start.

doing qs. uw makes me crazy n angry n i found out that its not as good as uw for step 2. q bank seems better. coz it covers comon topics. doing cel n molecular biology. hope can do it. hard,hard hard.but i know i can do it. ive always done well under stress . taking long time for an exam just make me lazy. so have to do it. its now or never. so les start again. ive still 30 qs from micro . ve to finish that too. n then i will start ..........dont know wt. may be biochem again plus neuro anatomy.
everything is going crazy. so much to read and so little time........i wish i could have more time for step 1 but then i think that at most i need may be 4 months n then i will have to wait fr 2009 match .. which i scary. coz after i give step one in say four or five months then i will be sitting home doing nthing. oh nooo. i should do it now. les start doing it again.........

btw when are you planning to give s tep 1 ... sma e situation with me... wondering over 2008 or 2009 match.. anyways.. if all goes ok.. I will give it in sept nd.. hope so,..

thanks kittu. my exam is on sept 1.
i will try to finish biochem today n tomorrow.its boring n long. just switching between the subjects n mainly im doing qs n fa n also trying to read some from kaplan thas tiem consuming. so i will start at 9 am. baby is sleeping thank god. weather is very good.when i think about the time i feel so much under pressure only 29 days. n everything remaining. may be i will take an nbme before going for the exam just to make sure i dont do any mistake in haste.

thas very bad of me. s i need real bad words from some one. hehhe. i dint even touch biochem instead started doing immunology from lewinson after having 52 in uw. it sucks. may be i will read that till night n then ................tomorrow biochem. recently i read in q book that students tend to read wt they already know.  well i dont know enough thas y i got 52..hehe.
n above all im so tense about my ck result that i get screwed up. every time i look in the book n even if i see something related i start feeling that i got so many qs wrong..... . i wish there were 48 hrs in a day untill 1st sept.<!-- END SMILIES -->

done with embryology. never studied good during medical school n never afterwards. but realized today that it isnt bad at all. its teh first time my studies r soo hap hazard but still im doing something atleast n even if its not the best its not the worst. did qs from kaplan only on embryo now will do uw section of embryo n some 20 qs of immunology that r remaining.
baby is sleeping. i wish my exams r finished soon so that i can enjoy more with my son.will write again after i finish qs. may eb at night. atleast when i look into the journal i gather that ive finished a few subjects atleast, but i need to go fast .

you are doing good.. yes its better to get done with all exams asap.. atleast then there is no sword hanging on our neck... regarding applying did you take eras token& send the documents...? & 1 more thing do you have your list of programs ready where you want o apply?? or are you applying to all programs?/ this is the major issue for me..I havent got any list done till now so just want to take 1 thing at a time..
I would suggest.. let your ck result come that will give you realy boost in your self confidence.. & give the exam when you feel you are prepared.. I think it can be done.. as you just did Ck..there is so much overlapp.. & it depends on your own knowledge.... judge your chances of this year match as there are many factors they see other than scores... dont compromise a good score just to catch this match..
anyways good luck... & work hard..

thanks kity for a great advice. im thinking the same. i wont decide anything until i get the ck score plus cs too. but ive taken eras token n ive the programme list. i worked it out in between but i dint send any documents yet. im just confused about the results u know its not easy so just studying for now n trying not to think anything else. may be i will send the documents on monday.
regarding the exam i will see how my preperation goes in this month. then will take NBME n see how things actually are n then if its not gud i can postpon it. i dont want to get a bad score at all.
hows ur preperation going. have u sent the documents?

SEND YOUR DOCUMENTS ASAP...
it will take 4 wks to scan.. so if you decide later to apply on 1 sep you wont have your doc scanned by eras till then.. so better get that done...

just did endo n cvs from FA. n started git. im thinking that its better to finish fa by tomorrow so that i can concentrate on my weak areas which unfortunately are alot. like pharmacokinetic graphs ,pictures,hehhe n biochem n pathophysiology. uw is not going good. still in 60's. i wish i could help it but i cant. its very hard or may be im not very smart. ok. i will finish git in one hour. i know it already. nthings new . i can do it. God help me out............................

nthing helps me.. not even my journal. feel so fed up n exhausted n the overwhelming tension of the result is just cripling. dont feel like doing anything. i wish i had a few friends here. its very hard living in another country.n the studies r just not going anywhere. doing hem/onc from fa . not enjoying at all. may be today i cant read anything.

im back n i will do it now inshallah. i hope God is helping me n He always helped me in His own mysterious ways.
ive started pharma . les see how much i can do till night. n at night i will do three blocks. i need to go fast and fast. after pharma i will have only physio n anatomy left. n 22 days. its now or never. afteral ive to go home after that. n if i dont finish it then ................everyone back home will say.............u good fr nthing. u came without exams. everybody there is a doctor so its kind of embarassing to go without exams....... atleast. will update later. . have to change things. i should be disappointed just because i have to wait fr the result n study. every body is in the same boat. im not the only oen who is going through all this.

doing uw. its still 48 percent remaining. n the same number in q bank. today did hem/oncology n musculoskeletal. will try to finish neuro too. some guest expected in the evening so will have less time.
