A 22 year old medical student who goes to sleep at 11pm and wakes at 7am falls asleep in lab every day. He tells the doc that he sees strange images as he is falling asleep and sometimes just as he wakes up. He has had a few minor car accidents that occurred bc he fell asleep while driving. Of the following the best first intervention for this student is

narcolepsy alright but,I think Development of a sleep ritual for insomnia;this pt is getting 8hrs of night sleep.

yeah me thinks so too he is getting almost 8hrs of sleep and still falling asleep during the day now either we give him a Stimulant or develop a nap system for him so that he gets his sleep correct.

The answer also suggests narcolepsy because he experiences hypnagogic illusions which is characteristic in this type of patients before falling in REM stage.
