1-what are the two families of this enzyme?
2-how the synthesis of this enzyme can be induced.
3- what is the difference b/w endothelial and macrophage NO synthase.
4- what are the substrate for this enzyme
5- what are the cofactor for this enzyme.

1)two families of NO synthase:
a-constitutive NO syntahse. this is calcium calmodulin dependent
b-Inducible NO synthase. this is calcium independent .

2)Induction of NO synthase
induction varies with cell type. TNF and IL-1 have been shown to induce its synthesis.

3)endothelial ,brain,and platelete needs calcium colmodulin for Nitric oxide.while macarophage do not calcium
4)substrate:arginis,O2,and NADPH

5)cofactors:FMN,FAD,Heme and tetrahydrobiopterin
