1-what are the two families of this enzyme? 2-how the synthesis of this enzyme can be induced. 3- what is the difference b/w endothelial and macrophage NO synthase. 4- what are the substrate for this enzyme 5- what are the cofactor for this enzyme.

1)two families of NO synthase: a-constitutive NO syntahse. this is calcium calmodulin dependent b-Inducible NO synthase. this is calcium independent . 2)Induction of NO synthase induction varies with cell type. TNF and IL-1 have been shown to induce its synthesis. 3)endothelial ,brain, and platelete needs calcium colmodulin for Nitric oxide.while macarophage do not calcium 4)substrate:arginis,O2,and NADPH 5)cofactors:FMN,FAD,Heme and tetrahydrobiopterin
