I think it is useful. But I think it is enough only to memorize the most importnat ones, for example: Hb, Hct, Na, K, PaCO2, PaO2,........nod

Goodluck!!!!!!!!!!!!

sometimes they give distracting lab values...for example they give you a recurrent resp inf scenario and add a sweat chloride level value to the stem ... make u think its CF but all the choises are irrelevant...you lose like 30 seconds confused then think : lemme check and you find that the Cl value is normal smiling face

even if we you dont wanna memorise we may get familiar with the ones in UW or other banks cuz the one in the exam is similar so we can know what is where instead of rolling the page up and down for minutes smiling face

i figured that out once i took so much time lookin up lab values doin' my practice tests...but u tend to automatically have them in your head once you keep doing questions...

You will also have in mind already from practice, clinical or if not in that yr yet then in school lecture then not , best is memorize the common one to save the time .nod

hmm...I think this is just some unnecessary stress to put yourself through. I mean if you have troubles with finishing blocks in time, this may be a way to save a bit of time, but I don't think it's necessary at all. I can recall only 2 questions or so per block that required me to pull up the lab values. So this knowledge is not really helpful considering the time it takes to learn them and the stress associated with it.

It takes maybe 10-15 seconds to find the right lab values, and about 15 seconds to look at them and interpret them, so if you memorize all the lab values, you will at most save 1 minute.

i actually haven't memorized any lab values, but after doing so many questions, you will learn it anyway. don't stress yourself over that... you will recognize the value to be off, and there were be something else in the question stem as well... so worry about other things...
